Baskets in Brown and Pink

I have an older (2005) book, Alphabet Quilts, with some really cute quilts in it.  All have letters in them.  This is the first one I’ve made from the book.

The border is a fabric I’ve had for at least ten years that I’ve always liked.  I can’t see it when it’s on the shelf so decided I should put it in a quilt.  The border is quilted in a double cable and the baskets and letters are outlined.  It finished at about 27 x 32.

I put the quilt on a picket fence in front of my bay window for the photo.  The fence keeps my dog from going through the old glass windows.  Everything outside was very wet but the sun was out (finally) so there’s a glare at the top.

This is another post that seems to have disappeared so I’m rewriting it.  What’s up with that?

The Inbox Jaunt

A few weeks ago, Lori at The Inbox Jaunt had a tutorial for free motion heart doodles and gave away the little quilt she made.  I was the lucky winner!  She called it the Valentine Doodle Quilt so I thought today would be the perfect day to share it.

She even made a special label to put on the back.

She does a lot of tutorials and takes beautiful pictures so be sure to check out her blog.  And thank you again, Lori, for the pretty little quilt.  I love hearts!

One difference between WordPress and Blogger

When I read comments on Blogger and then hit ‘reply’, my replies went by email to the person who left the comment, privately.  WordPress doesn’t do that – it posts another comment just under the one I want to reply to.   I want you to know that I really appreciate your comments and I’m not ignoring you!  If you ever have a question or want a private reply for any reason, please include your email address and I’d be more than happy to answer privately.

Alphabet Quilt

One of my nice friends sent me a pattern for this little quilt.  I still haven’t decided if I should ‘age’ it or leave the letters as is.  What do you think?
